KODEN Ultrasonic Drilling Monitor (KODEN DM)

Used across several landmark infrastructure projects, the KODEN DM is a precision tool designed to measure and record the verticality and depth of diaphragm wall panels and pile bores under slurry conditions.

Why KODEN DM Matters

Accurate trenching is critical to the integrity of underground structures. KODEN DM ensures:

Precise Verticality

Detects deviations in diaphragm walls and pile bores to guarantee watertight joints between panels.

Smooth Reinforcement Lowering

Enables trouble-free placement of reinforcement cages by maintaining vertical alignment.

Reliable Depth Measurement

Monitors trench and bore depth under slurry to prevent muck accumulation at the toe—ensuring structural soundness.

These capabilities have contributed to the success of several Metro Rail projects, where underground stations are connected by twin tunnels. In such projects, diaphragm walls form the permanent external structure of the station box.

Diaphragm Wall Construction Overview

Diaphragm walls are built by trenching under slurry, followed by reinforcement cage installation and concreting. Each wall consists of multiple panels joined using water stoppers or overcut joints. The KODEN DM plays a vital role during trenching—measuring verticality under slurry to ensure precision and long-term durability.

Chinki Boras Barrage Dam Foundation

This dam is founded on soil reinforced by diaphragm walls. Our KODEN Drilling Monitor ensured precise installation of diaphragm wall panels, effectively eliminating seepage through the wall.

Polavaram Dam – 100m Deep Plastic Concrete Cut-Off Wall

One of the largest dams built across the mighty Godavari River, Polavaram rests on a 1.5m thick × 100m deep × 1.7KM long plastic concrete cut-off wall. Acting as an underground dam, it completely arrests seepage beneath the structure. KODEN DM was used to measure panel verticality and ensure sufficient joint overlap—eliminating seepage windows.

Kanupur Irrigation Project – Head Works Dam (Completed Sept 2023)

This dam is supported by a 1.0m thick × 45m deep × 1.05KM long plastic concrete cut-off wall, functioning as an underground barrier to prevent seepage. KODEN DM ensured accurate verticality of each panel and proper joint overlap for watertight integrity.

Pakaldul Dam Project, Jammu – 80m Deep Plastic Cut-Off Works

Constructed through one of India’s most challenging geological zones, this dam rests on a 1.2m thick × 85m deep × 200M long plastic concrete cut-off wall. KODEN DM was deployed to precisely measure panel verticality and confirm joint overlap, ensuring complete seepage arrest beneath the dam.
